About Mrs. Precious-Pearl Johnstone, CRC, LCMHC, CCATP, CCTHP

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, meaning I am licensed to provide individual and family therapy services in the state of North Carolina by the Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CCTHP), and a National Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I am also trained in Triple P -Parenting and use a few Parent Child Interaction Therapy interventions with parents. Along with numerous years of experience working with families I am also trained in Restorative Justice Practices Campbell University Law School through Wake County Schools and I incorporate Restorative Practices within my counseling methods as a way to assist families in family therapy to resolve conflicts and increase communication skills and I also work within the corporate area to help team build and resolve internal conflicts as well and foster a greater sense of company cohesiveness. I enjoy helping others and my internal drive to work with people has led me into the field of counseling. I have over 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in various settings (private therapy practice, schools, in-home settings, and military base). My clinical areas of interest are: anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, conflict resolution, couples counseling, behavioral disorders, behavioral addictions, vocational counseling / life adjustments and life coaching.

I have spent several years working within the mental health and school settings and bring a great level of expertise. My clinical framework pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Adlerian theory/concepts. My goal is to support people in finding a balanced and well-centered lifestyle. I am currently in my fourth year of private practice in which I have been able to further assist to a greater degree young adults and adults that range from 18 to 65 years of age. I have had the opportunity to put more focus on adult relationships which has led to a greater level of interest with working with adults to assist in uncovering the root causes of underlying conflicts. My present focus is working with adults to assist them in uncovering the root causes of certain behaviors in which can interfere with their ability to perform activities of daily living and impede on current relationships and forming new ones.

I received my undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. I received my Master’s Degree from North Carolina A&T State University in Community Counseling with a Certificate in Behavioral Addictions and was a Rehabilitation Services Administration Scholar. I am also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and hold a Professional Educators License in School Counseling.

I am currently accepting new young adult and adult clients for virtual counseling sessions at this time.
